Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-20
Orbly is a daily circle-drawing game for iOS. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes, and how you can control it. The short version: nothing about you leaves your device except what's absolutely required to serve ads (for the free tier) and to sync your own scores across your own Apple devices.
Summary
- No accounts. Orbly doesn't require a login. It uses Apple's Game Center for leaderboards and Apple's iCloud for cross-device sync, both of which you control through iOS Settings.
- No tracking by us. We don't run any analytics, crash-reporting, or telemetry SDKs.
- Ads in the free tier. We use Google AdMob. AdMob collects some identifiers to show you ads; you can decline tracking for personalisation in two places (detailed below).
- Premium removes ads entirely. When you buy the Premium Bundle or the "Remove Ads" IAP, the ad SDK never initialises on your device. No identifiers are collected.
What Orbly does not collect
- Your name, email, phone number, address, or photos.
- Your contacts, calendar, microphone, camera, or precise location.
- Your browsing history or activity in other apps.
- Your drawings beyond your own iCloud account. If iCloud sync is on, your past circles live in your private Apple iCloud storage — only your Apple ID can access them.
What Orbly does collect
Game Center (Apple)
When you submit a score, Orbly hands it to Apple's Game Center for the leaderboards. This is handled entirely by Apple. Your Game Center nickname may appear on public leaderboards. You can sign out of Game Center from iOS Settings at any time.
iCloud (Apple)
If you're signed into iCloud, Orbly syncs your past results and lifetime stats to your other Apple devices through your private iCloud storage. We (the developer) have no access to this data — it lives in your Apple account. If you sign out of iCloud, the data stays on that device only.
Google AdMob (free tier only)
Free-tier users see occasional interstitial ads after a game. To serve those ads, the AdMob SDK collects:
- Your advertising identifier (IDFA) — only if you grant tracking permission via the ATT prompt.
- Anonymised product-interaction events (ad shown, ad clicked).
- Coarse location (country/region) derived from your IP address, so we serve legally-appropriate ad inventory.
This data is used for third-party advertising and analytics purposes and is processed by Google per their privacy policy. Declining tracking simply results in less personalised ads — you'll still see ads unless you purchase the Remove Ads IAP.
On-device storage
Orbly uses standard iOS storage to remember your in-app preferences and your local game history on your device. None of this leaves the device unless iCloud sync is on (in which case it goes only to your own Apple account, as described above).
Your choices
- App Tracking Transparency. The first time Orbly prepares to show an ad, iOS prompts you to allow or deny tracking. You can change this later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Manage privacy choices. In-app, go to Settings → "Manage Privacy Choices" to review or change the consent form for EU / UK / state-privacy jurisdictions.
- Remove ads entirely. Purchasing the "Remove Ads" IAP or the Premium Bundle disables the AdMob SDK at source — no ads are fetched, no identifiers collected, no consent form shown.
- Delete your data. Uninstalling Orbly removes all local data. To delete iCloud-synced data, sign into iCloud.com, or contact us at support@playorbly.com and we'll confirm deletion from our end (though the data lives in your Apple account, not ours).
Children
Orbly is rated 4+ by Apple (no objectionable content) but is not specifically directed at children. The AdMob SDK is not configured for child-directed treatment. If you're a parent who wants a child to play without advertising, purchase the Remove Ads IAP.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Orbly handles data, we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes (e.g. adding a new SDK), we'll also surface a notice in the app.
